If you have any questions or would like to discuss your options please call or email us, or if you know which project(s) you would like to go for please complete our online application form Please note that completing an application form does not commit you to a placement. When we receive your application we will send you further information and contact you to take your placement forward. References and a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check may be required. Once you have all the information and we have accepted you, to go ahead, we ask you to pay a deposit (£200) and agree to the PoD terms and conditions (click here for a copy). Full payment is required 8 weeks before your departure date (or as soon as possible if you book less than 8 weeks ahead). RequirementsNo specific skills or qualifications are required for most of our projects, though volunteers must be in good health and are required to complete a medical questionnaire. If you have a question over your health please contact us as we can normally accept people with medical conditions that they can control.
Most of our projects have a minimum age of 18 although it is no problem to apply before you reach 18 if you will be 18 when you start the project. There is no maximum age limit as long as you are in reasonable health for the project. Friends and couplesIf friends or couples are travelling together, it is possible to work together on the same placement, or work on different placements in the same location. For example, one person could teach English while their friend volunteers in an orphanage. For many of our projects we give a discount for friends or couples applying together. Non-UK applications As well as UK volunteers, we welcome applications from non-UK citizens - Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. |
