PoD is a company that aims to provide benefit to people from the developed and the developing world by creating links and sharing experiences. The expedition team will spend time at a project site working to help a local community whilst learning from them. The expedition may choose a focus such a teaching English or conservation work, or the team may divide into smaller groups each with their own focus.
The volunteer phase would normally be between one and two weeks long. During this time we encourage the team to spend as much time as possible with local communities and people, getting to know them and learning about their culture.
After completing an expedition, many team members say that although they were most looking forward to the adventure phase, it is the volunteering that has had the most profound impact on them.
